Position: SharePoint Developer
Description:
The position will require approximately 60% systems administration and troubleshooting support, 25% development and testing and 15% project planning, collaboration and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- A critical team lead in planning, designing, configuring, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and securing our corporate SharePoint extranet site
- Designing, implementing and customizing portal sites, web parts, workflows, SharePoint features and integrating third party solutions
- Developing programming specifications by working with and interpreting less technical business stakeholders’ requirements
- Documenting solutions in clear and concise detail for other developers to comprehend
- Maintaining and managing the firms SharePoint implementation to minimize downtime and lost productivity for end-users
- Supporting the firms end-users in a highly professional and responsive manner
- Troubleshooting daily issues and testing the solutions thoroughly.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Proven self-starter with the ability to succeed in a moderately paced environment
- The ability to work well in a distributed team environment, and the ability to run well on your own
- Two or more years SharePoint development and administration experience; including at least one year with MOSS 2007
- Two or more years experience with .NET programming including proficiency in a variety of programming languages including C#, ASP.net, and SQL using Visual Studio 2005 or higher
- Two or more years experience with web scripting and markup technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java Script and XSL
- Proficiency configuring and maintaining SharePoint server and services
- Proficiency managing SharePoint sites and managing security
- Ability to develop, deploy, and customize SharePoint 2007 applications, web parts, InfoPath forms, and other SharePoint customization
- Solid experience with MS SQL Server 2005
- Fundamental understanding of database concepts, including SQL, stored procedures and triggers
- Practical experience in software development methodologies and processes: including user interface and site design, software design techniques, requirements gathering, and software testing
- Excellent problem solving and analytical/technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, effective in oral and written communications particularly in documenting work and communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical users
- Professional, organized, and flexible; able to work in a moderately paced environment and able to work well with both the Mumbai and Chicago, US based IT teams
