Position: Software Architect
Job description:
Cisco seeks a Software Engineer to define, design and build software for the STS products. The ideal candidate demonstrates a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component. Participate (in a senior/ lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco products. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements gathering, Estimation, Architect, Design, Implement, Unit testing and Integration testing of major SW release including coordinating with other teams/departments.
- Demonstrate a high degree of originality and innovation in defining product and project level architecture.
- Significantly influences the design of interfaces between products to ensure interoperability.
- Participating in specification review, code review and ability to troubleshoot and resolving the issues.
- Good communication skill and ability to work independently or very little direction are a must.
Must-have Technical Skills:
- Development experience in Core Java, XML & XML Processing.
- Experience in development of Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Good understanding Design Patterns
- Unit testing frame work like Junit and Web Service testing frame work.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in using Eclipse IDE, CVS
- Good understanding of RDBMS and SQL
- Experience in using Design tools and Database tools
- Experience in Network Management Systems or Element Management Systems & FCAPS is an added advantage.
- Experience in protocols like Telnet, SSH, SOAP, HTTP
Education: BE / B.Tech. / M.Tech.
Experience: 3 – 15 years of related experience
