Position: Manager/ Senior Manager, Market Intelligence

Reporting to: Senior Director Marketing

Department: Marketing Department

Location: Mumbai

Key Business Objective:

  • To analyse Reliance Globalcom's market position for all products and ensure Reliance Globalcom's service set remains competitive and differentiated at all times and that key staff and sales channels remain fully briefed on market trends and competitive positioning.

Role Summary:

The role will be responsible for tracking and reporting market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity. Through research, analysis and benchmarking it will ensure that Reliance Globalcom's services are competitive and differentiated in the global market place. The individual will be recognised as the internal expert in industry trends and market performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be the company's centre of excellence on market trends, segment needs, demand drivers and competitive positioning through
  • Market research and analysis
  • Market reporting insight on market trends and recommendations on regional service improvements.
  • Competitor tracking and analysis & tracking competitive movement in different geographies and benchmarking Reliance Globalcom's service performance.
  • Capturing customer requirements for service enhancements and new service offerings
  • Creating market insights, case studies and white papers on industry trends to help develop our position as a thought leader in the market.
  • Daily market news updates.
  • Tracking of competitive position in customer bids and associated win loss analysis
  • KPI reporting

Contact with Others:

  • Internal: Marketing, Commercial Pricing, Product Management, Sales, Operations, Legal, Engineering and Senior Management.
  • External: External suppliers (Research agencies, news feeds, industry analysts and commentators)

Educational / Academic / Qualifications:

  • Business Degree
  • Excellent written and oral English
  • Highly numerate and analytical


  • Experience in research, analysis and report writing, preferably in the telecoms and/or technology sector

Industry Knowledge:

  • In depth knowledge of the global telecommunications market and key global commercial, B2B and technology trends
  • Experience of managing supplier relationships
