Position: Java Technical Architect
Qualification: BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, MBA, CA, ICWA
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of developers in developing software design, developing, debugging, and fixing Java/J2EE code for software development projects at Ascendum.
- Serves as expert in all aspects of designing and application development by owning and providing technical leadership in a Java environment
- Participate in requirements gathering, architecture design, and technical documentation
- Perform detailed review of design of components/modules, Test Cases, Source Code Management and code walk-throughs
- Provide Coaching / Mentoring to developers on architecture, frameworks and development practices job technical feedback and by providing guidance;
- Participate in training the develop team.
- Prototype technically challenging solutions, and ensure an effective hand-off to development.
- Work with Sr. Project Manager / Customer on assessing technical feasibility/approach and provide input on product specifications.
Technical Skills:
- Masters Degree in computer science or information systems preferred;
- Bachelors Degree in computer science or information systems mandatory
- 7+ years experience in J2EE-based enterprise software development environment.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in strong server side, multithreaded Java programming using core Java, Servlet, EJB, JSP, JDBC, JMS
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on design and implementation experience with the following Java technologies: Weblogic, Websphere, JBOSS/Tomcat
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience using XML/XSL/XSLT/DHTML
- 2-4 years of experience in developing Stored Procedures using Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oraclev Strong understanding of Object Oriented Methodologies, Java/J2EE design patterns mandatory.
- Strong understanding of web-based applications mandatory.
Other Skills:
- Must have the ability to design & implement software on a tight schedule.
- Must have lead a team of 2 - 5 people
- Experience in developing WebServices and strong knowledge of SOA preferred
- Ability to mentor Senior Developers in developing technical documents using UML will be an added advantage
- Ability to assist Sr. Project Manager in developing estimates for software projects will be an added advantage
- Must have been responsible for developing software design/architecture using UML
- Must have hands-on experience in developing technical documents and providing development estimates for software projects
- Must have strong written and spoken English communication skills;
- Must be able to articulate thoughts, experience etc.
Nice to have:
- Experience / knowledge of CMMi based software engineering projects will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Agile Methodologies, Software Estimation techniques will be an added advantage
