Team structure:
The Information Development & Management team provides predominantly web-based application solutions to Global markets and RBS UK divisions of RBS. Within ID&M, the HR, DMS, CMS and SharePoint Technology team is responsible for GBM's core Document Management, Collaboration, Intranet web content management platforms as well as HR systems projects and Microsoft Office template development.
Team function & responsibilities:
GBM is currently using Microsoft Office 2003 on the desktop and SharePoint/MOSS 2007as its collaboration platform. With a growing user base and demand for delivery, we need to expand the size of our Office development delivery capability. The role will be 70% development and 30% application knowledge with particularly strong Excel and Word experience. This role reports into the HR, DMS, CMS and SharePoint Technology IDC team leader and works very closely with the existing Microsoft Office development function in the UK. There is also the opportunity to cross train across broader set of technologies within the department including SharePoint.
Role responsibilities:
- Undertake development and maintenance of all of GBM's Microsoft office 2003 standard template set
- Provide 3rd level support and bug-fixing of templates and custom code-based
- Manage source code
- Contribute to self-service support, training, and best practice on-line material for end users
- Participate in an upgrade of all existing templates and MS Office customisations to Office 2007 in line with Office 2007 desktop rollout plans.
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
- MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) 2003 to expert level
- Word/Excel/PowerPoint VBA 2003 macro development
- XML programming using VBA
- Development of Office templates (particularly Word) using VBA & XMLMS
- Office application knowledge to expert user level, specifically: Word - AutoText; Graphics (in-line/floating, formatting, positioning, anchoring); Styles; Tables; Integration with Excel & PowerPoint, including linking; Excel - Excel models/analysis; Excel functions; Excel charts; Integration with Word & PowerPoint, including linking; PowerPoint - Working with Excel charts (pictures and objects, linked and non-linked); Slide masters
Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
- MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) 2003 to expert level (highly desirable)
