Description about the team & job profile:

Value Engineering (VE) is a 400+ Strategic Sales Consulting team, with a mix of people having in-depth industry expertise, solution knowledge, management consulting background and product software understanding with the objective of driving SAP’s license sales. The mission of the VE India team is to support/lead deals, assist in demand generation and roll-out global value-selling programs across the Americas/Asia-Pacific / EMEA. Collaborating with prospect’s senior business executives, VE delivers business cases which link the company’s strategic goals, business process challenges, industry trends and best practices with peers / industry leaders to crystallize the SAP value proposition. The result is an increased win rate in deals, bigger deal sizes and shortened sales cycles.

The VE India team, launched in January 2006 and based in Gurgaon, is an extension of the VE team in the Americas/Asia-Pacific/EMEA. The team in the EMEA region is a mix of top-tier MBAs with average work experience of 12+ yrs with deep management / strategy consulting and/or industry focus. The Indian team will consist of talented MBA professionals from premier educational and work backgrounds, having strong business advisory skills and the ability to be the thought engine for SAP sales.

Position Description:

A mix of sales, management consulting and finance within the umbrella of a global, premier software brand, the role expects candidates to support multi-million dollar deals, drive programs and build expertise across industries and business processes from an advisory/consulting standpoint.

Initially, the individual is expected to understand the concept of value based selling.

  • Create customized business cases and financial models to quantify the benefits of the suggested business process improvements for a prospect, over an extended time horizon
  • Drive engagements to assist clients/prospects examine a process area, assess pain points, highlight the value drivers and showcase the SAP value proposition

Proficiency in most of these aspects, over time, propels the individual towards the next level:

  • Manage focused programs for clients/prospects across multiple process areas like supply chain, sales and marketing, HR, finance etc.
  • Conceptualize performance indicator frameworks for various business processes
  • Highlight pain points and recommend solution enablers for prospects/clients, based on interviews with key stakeholders

Over a period of time, individuals grow to take on positions of higher responsibility:

  • Lead multi-level complex engagements to assist clients/prospects examine their business processes, assess pain points and showcase the SAP value proposition
  • Lead focused programs for clients/prospects (in multiple countries) across multiple process areas like supply chain, sales and marketing, HR, finance etc.
  • Interact in short onsite client engagements to gain a detailed understanding of client/prospect performance at the process and sub-process levels
