The ECPG team in India has a senior software development engineer position open for creative and independent engineers with a passion to define and build Amazon's next-generation order management platform. The next generation of e-commerce sites will be built on our technology, and we need sharp people to build the features and systems that will power that growth. As a member of the team, you will pioneer new architectural and design choices, invent new features, develop distributed services, and build a massively scalable, rock-solid platform solution using object-oriented C/C++/Java on various UNIX-flavored platforms. We are a fast-paced environment, using agile methodology and lightweight SOA design patterns. We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle. If you are a strong developer with experience in or strong interest in high-volume websites, distributed systems and databases, performance/scalability or network programming, we'd like to talk to you.
Responsibilities:- Work effectively with product development and development teams across the eCommerce Platform group to deliver solutions and services that enable multiple digital businesses across multiple geographies.
- Lead in the design, implementation, and deployment of successful enterprise-level systems that are designed to be secure, scalable, and low-latency.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues, and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Serve as a technical lead on demanding, cross-functional projects.
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple solutions.
- Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
- Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Leverage knowledge of internal and industry prior art in design decisions.
- Work on multiple high-profile projects with short deadlines simultaneously and do so in a way that promotes collaboration with service owners and confidence from business owners.
- BS degree or higher in CS with a minimum of 2-8 years of relevant, broad engineering experience required
